LAKEPORT – If you love comedy, music and just plain fun, you will want to treat yourself to the first “Who’s Who Celebrity Lip Sync” at the Soper Reese Community Theatre this Saturday, May 15.
A cast of more than 50 local residents, retirees and business people will perform in 22 acts on the stage at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday.
From Elvis, Patsy Cline, Aretha, Garth Brooks, Sonny & Cher to Boogey Woogey Bugle Boy tap dancers, it is a almost two-hour show of pure entertainment for young and old.
Emcee Tom Lincoln will lead you through a variety of musical delights beginning with his own brand of humor and song, as well as dancing the fox trot.
Jan Parkinson, past president of the Lake County Chamber, has brought this delightful experience to our communities.
Kristy Weiss and Diana Schmidt are co-directors, along with lead choreographer Sarah Dutra, are responsible for leading some admittedly starstruck, would-be performers to the stage.
The cast is comprised of young and old from all around Lake County, students and dowagers of suspect age will amaze you with their talents.

LAKEPORT – Konocti Vista Casino is excited to announce the forthcoming concert featuring the renowned country artist and member of the Grand Old Opry, Pam Tillis.
This concert will take place beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 20.
Pam Tillis is country music royalty. The daughter of the legendary Mel Tillis – an inductee of the Country Music Hall of Fame – Pam Tillis has achieved numerous accolades and awards in her own right.
The Grammy Winning singer and songwriter has had multiple No. 1 songs and was named the 1994 Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year. She also was inducted as a member of the Grand Old Opry in 2000. You can find out more about this country music superstar at www.pamtillis.com.
Following the phenomenal success of The Lost Boys in March, Konocti Vista Casino is proud to host Pam Tillis in the same intimate venue, Club Konocti. Seating just over 400, the room gives both guests and performers a unique opportunity for personal interaction.

Please note that to allow us all to get home at a decent hour, “The Warning” will be screened at 5 p.m., one hour earlier than usual. Following a 15-minute break, “Capitalism” will begin at 6:15 p.m.
“The Warning” is a just-released, hard-hitting Frontline documentary showing how Brooksley Born, a brilliant woman who was the head of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission in the 1990s, became worried that lack of regulation and fraud in the derivatives’ market was so rife that it could bring down the US and the global economies.
Doing her job, she warned Alan Greenspan, head of the SEC. He told her that fraud was acceptable, and she was fired.
This 58-minute film is gripping, fast-moving and enraging. It is also the perfect explanatory lead-in to Michael Moore’s film.
“Capitalism: A Love Story” brings the resultant near-collapse of our economy home. We are given a moving and intimate view of what happens when big business and government “regulators” put greed and profit before human life (or anything else).
Warren Buffet, the world’s richest person is quoted as saying in 2007, “It’s class warfare. My class is winning, but they shouldn’t be.” Is it OK with you that the richest 1 percent now own 95 percent of the world’s wealth?
You are welcome to stay for the first film only, for both films, or for the second film only. When the films are over, you will have a much better understanding of how capitalism has become the twisted property of the highest power brokers, and is no longer the inspiration of millions of small business people. The films are free, as always.
