Wiloth Equine Therapy and Riding Center, Special Pets Rescue join Pet Fair

HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE – People attending Hidden Valley Lake’s upcoming Pet Fair and Vaccination Clinic will be delighted with two new participants, Wiloth Equine Therapy and Riding Center and Special Pets Rescue.

The community event is Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Blanche Horner Park, 19210 Hartmann Road, Hidden Valley Lake (HVL).

Wiloth Equine Therapy and Riding Center offers equine-facilitated therapy, mainstream horseback riding lessons, trail rides, and horse rescue and placement. A member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association, the program is endorsed by many local charities and was nominated for Lake County’s 2007 Humanitarian of the Year.

Special Pets Rescue is dedicated to mixed-breed dog rescue, primarily in Lake County, to help decrease pet overpopulation. Other animals are occasionally available for adoption, for example purebred dogs, cats and kittens, and barnyard animals.

The two organizations join Val’s Pet Paradise of Middletown and Lake County Animal Control at the pet fair.

Additionally, Lake County’s Outstanding Teen Lauren Berlinn will be the fair’s special guest. When crowned last summer, Berlinn said she “hoped to improve the lives of the animals in Lake County and also of the people who reside here.”

Co-sponsored by HVL’s Stables Committee and Dog Owner’s Group, with VIP Petcare Services, the event will provide free rabies shots and free heartworm testing for dogs and cats and microchip pet identification for $20, a $19 savings, and other low-cost pet services and vaccinations.

A local veterinarian and two technicians will be on site to provide the pet services. All dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers.
