MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The California Department of Conservation recently presented the Outstanding Lease and Facility Maintenance Award to Calpine’s operations at The Geysers.
The presentation marked Calpine’s 11th consecutive year to receive the award, which recognizes safety and environmental responsibility in management of state-owned leases.
The nation’s largest renewable geothermal power producer, Calpine operates 15 power plants at The Geysers that are capable of generating up to 750 megawatts of renewable energy around the clock.

CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – Cache Creek Vineyards & Winery has won gold at the Orange County Fair Wine Competition.
The winery’s 2007 Petite Syrah was honored with a gold medal.
With the winery, the Van Pelt family is turning the dream and vision of their late Father “Poppo” into a reality.
“Our focus now is to not only keep providing grapes to other well known brands in Napa, but to get the Cache Creek Vineyard brand on the map and into the glasses of wine consumers,” said Tess James, marketing and sales director.
