CLEARLAKE, Calif. – U.S. Cellular is hosting a holiday-themed customer appreciation celebration at the Clearlake store on Friday, Dec. 7, and Saturday, Dec. 8.
During those two days, everyone who visits the store at 14896 Olympic Drive will receive a free tumbler (while supplies last), and customers can access a mobile prize wheel on their smartphone to spin to win prizes that include bill credits and accessory discounts of up to 30 percent.
“We want to show our appreciation for our customers throughout the year, but especially during the holiday season,” said Erryn Andersen, director of sales for U.S. Cellular in the northwest. “We welcome the entire community to visit our store and take part in the celebration and while you’re here check out the latest consumer electronics gifts for your loved ones.”
The customer appreciation celebration coincides with a smartphone sale at all U.S. Cellular with smartphones starting at $1 per month.

MENDOCINO NATIONAL FOREST, Calif. — All federal government offices were closed on Wednesday, Dec. 5, for the National Day of Mourning to honor President George H.W. Bush.
As a result of this closure, bids will be delayed and rescheduled to Dec. 12 for the following sales:
Lake Pillsbury decks sale: 10 a.m.
Letts Lake decks sale: 10:30 a.m.
Alder Springs decks sale: 11 a.m.
All other information on these sales remains the same, the only change is the bid opening date.
Complete information concerning the timber, the conditions of sale and submission of bids is available to the public from the Mendocino National Forest Supervisor’s Office, 825 N. Humboldt Ave., Willows and on the forest Web site at the bottom of the resource management Web page, https://www.fs.usda.gov/resources/mendocino/landmanagement/resourcemanagement.
The Forest Service will receive sealed bids in public at the Supervisor’s office in Willows on Wednesday, Dec. 12.
