Leading consumer advocate for non-GMO Foods in Lake County May 8

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Jeffrey M. Smith, renowned international best-selling author on genetically modified (GMO) foods (Seeds of Deception; Genetic Roulette) and executive director of the Institute for Responsible Technology, will be in Lake County this weekend.

Smith, the leading consumer advocate of non-GMO foods, will conduct an all-day training workshop at Ancient Lake Gardens in Kelseyville on Sunday, May 8, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., on how to speak about genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and organize effective advocacy around the issue.

Whether participants seek to gain an in-depth understanding about GMOs or want to organize with others already active around the issue in Lake County, this is a unique opportunity to learn from the leading spokesperson on GMO health dangers.

Smith has presented in 32 countries, counseled world leaders on every continent, and authored the world’s best-selling books on the topic.

Participants will learn:

  • The five components of a GMO presentation, and the studies, quotes, statistics, and concepts to convey.

  • Why genetically engineered foods are dangerous for our health and environment.

  • How to customize PowerPoint slides (provided) for desired length and focus.

  • Proven ways to motivate people to change their diets, on the spot.

During the workshop, participants will:

  • Receive a scripted PowerPoint, sample recorded lectures, a facilitators’ guide, and comprehensive list of reference materials.

  • Practice presenting in small groups.

  • Have plenty of time for questions and answers, to gain confidence in the material.

Workshop graduates can:

  • Participate in ongoing teleconferences and webinars.

  • Team up with others in Lake County already active on the issue.

  • Join the nationwide network of campaigners reclaiming a non-GMO food supply.
