
LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Rodeo Association is holding a special rodeo kick off dinner/dance on Saturday, May 14.
The event will take place in Fritch Hall at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 401 Martin St. in Lakeport.
“This dance is a fundraiser,” said Rodeo Association President Steve Estrada, “so we may have sufficient funds to help us bring the rodeo to the community.”
Tickets for the dinner and dance are $25 per person, with dinner being served from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and dancing from 8 p.m. to midnight, featuring Lake County’s own LC Diamonds.
Lake County Rodeo Queen Ashley Johnson and Princess Kimberly Fischer plus current contestants for the 2011 Lake County Rodeo Queen and Princess Contest will be on hand to meet everyone.
Applications for the always popular mutton bustin’ event will be available, ages 4 to 8 years.
Dance co-chairs Angel Purdy and Lou Riccardi have put together a great program, with good food, raffle prizes, dancing and just plain fun for the entire evening.
There is a chance to win a one week stay at one of four different Lake Tahoe area resorts, in addition to over 30 raffle prizes.
The association directors voted to offer $1.50 per glass beer for the first hour of the dance.
