NICE, Calif. – The North Lake Garden Club has been busy this summer searching out gardens along the Northshore of Clear Lake.
The club was looking for new garden areas that make a difference on the Highway 20 scenic corridor. They found a beautiful project in front of Nice Self Service Storage.
Owners Ken and Linda Ford had a new sign made to encourage business but also put in a lovely flower garden which enhances the busy roadway with color and whimsy.
North Lake Garden Club President Kim Marsh and North Shore Business Association President Deb Clarke presented the couple with a certificate of appreciation for their lovely flower landscaping, located in the rear of their facility at 2300 Stokes Ave in Nice.
They were so happy that someone noticed their flowers, as they had fun putting it together for the community to enjoy.
The club is looking for forward to their next meeting on Sept. 27 at Lucerne Community Church. It will start at 6:30 p.m. with a buffet dinner. If you are interested in joining please come.
The topic will be sharing plants and garden ideas as well as planning for this year's projects, one of them being a field trip to Conservatory of Flowers at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on Nov. 3.
A bus will take a group down and it should be a wonderful day. The cost will include transportation and tickets to the flower exhibit.
There will be more information on upcoming events to come in this publication. You also can check other activities coming up on the club's new North Lake Garden Club Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/pages/North-Lake-Garden-Club/191216670901307?sk=wall.
