Democratic Central Committee meets Jan. 5

CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – The Lake County Democratic Central Committee will meet on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012.


The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Clearlake Oaks United Methodist Church, 12487 The Plaza.


The group will discuss plans for the election year and and plans for the United Democratic Headquarters and the early convention, which will be held Feb. 10-12 in San Diego.


Guest speaker will be Tim Williams, who will report on the repeal of the Citizens United vs. FEC

decision.


There are legislative actions both state and federal as well as an update on direct actions taking place at federal courthouses nationwide on Jan. 20 marking the second anniversary of the Supreme Court decision.


Also on the agenda will be a report from Congressman Mike Thompson. Joey Luiz, representative for Assemblyman Wes Chesbro, will present a report and Sunol Westergren, representative for Sen. Noreen Evans, or will have a report.


Stonewall and Lake County Democratic Club representatives Mark Wickhamshire and Paula Mune, respectively, will provide updates on club activities.


Meetings are open to the public and committee membership is open to all registered Democrats.


The Lake County Democratic Central Committee is the official governing body of the Democratic Party in Lake County.
