Lake County Computer Users to meet Jan. 7

CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – The Lake County Computer Users group will meet on Saturday, Jan. 7.

The meeting will take place at the Live Oak Senior Center, 12502 Foothill Blvd., Clearlake Oaks.

Doors open at 9 a.m. with coffee available. Members are encouraged to bring breakfast finger foods to share.

Judy Grindle will take a look at the improved Mozy Home 2.0 online backup solution, which now allows simultaneous local backups.

They also will take a first look at the word processor in Open Office or the similar Libre Office to see what advantages it has compared to Wordpad, and to check how well it reads Word or Wordpad .doc files.

The group will explore answers to questions posed at the last meeting: how to add a copyright symbol and your name to your photo; how to restrict the use of photos you upload to Picasa Web Albums; and how to archive your e-mail to a CD/ DVD.

They will address other PC problems or questions, so make a list and they will do their best to help you find a solution.
