Caltrans plans major roadwork through March 8

NORTH COAST – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around Lake County during the coming week.

Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 20

– AT&T of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility relocation at Nice-Lucerne Cutoff Road beginning Monday, March 5. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 3p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Metal beam guardrail repair from 0.8 mile west to 0.8 mile east of New Long Valley Road will continue. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays. Contractor – Stewart Dirt and Aggregate of Fairfield.

Highway 175

– A pavement repair project from Socrates Mine Road to County Road 4 will continue through Friday, March 2. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 5p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays. Contractor – Granite Construction of Ukiah.

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

– PG&E of Santa Rosa has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility work from Gualala to Old State Highway. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4p.m., weekdays. A shoulder closure will be in effect. Motorists are advised to drive with caution through the area and may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

– Replacement of the Greenwood Creek Bridge will continue through Friday, March 2. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.  Contractor – Golden Gate Bridge Inc. of Martinez.

Highway 101

– A pavement repair project from the Robinson Overcrossing to Reeves Canyon Road will continue through Friday, March 2. Work hours are 5 a.m. to 3p.m., weekdays. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – Granite Construction Inc. of Ukiah.

– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from Ridgewood Ranch Road to the CAL FIRE station on Friday, March 2. Work hours are 9 a.m. to 3p.m. Southbound traffic will be restricted to one lane. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.

Work on all these projects is weather permitting and subject to change. Caltrans advises motorists to drive with caution when approaching work areas and to be prepared to stop at traffic control stations.

The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.
