UPPER LAKE, Calif. – Cache Creek Catering and Lake County Wine Studio are hosting a special three-course Central American Cuisine and wine pairing event on Sunday, Oct. 21, with guest chef, Carol Gibson.
Reservations are recommended for the event beginning at 11:30 a.m. and with the latest reservation time possible at 1:30 p.m.
Seating is limited and on a first come, first served basis.
The cost is $25 per person and $20 per person for Studio club members.
The menu will feature regional recipes from Honduras, Central America paired with Robledo Family wines.
The first course will pair Pinot Blanc with grilled mini peppers stuffed with quinoa, summer vegetables and goat cheese.
The second course will pair Tempranillo with banana leaf steamed pork tamales.
The final course will pair Petite Sirah with a sweet and spicy meatball recipe from Gibson’s grandmother.
Gibson came to California from San Pedro Sula, Honduras at the age of 15, and settled in Potter Valley.
She learned her home country’s style of cooking with regional foods and spices from her grandmother, Mama Lili, and works in the culinary field in Mendocino County.
