LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) Master Gardeners of Lake County are very pleased to announce the release of their 2013 Lake County Master Gardener Calendar, “Growing With The Seasons.”
While the calendar was produced with Lake County home gardeners in mind, it contains valuable information for all Lake County residents.
This year’s calendar features vegetable gardening and includes month by month information on what to plant, what to harvest, what to do, and what to remember.
Also included is a table grouping vegetables by color based on the USDA www.ChooseMyPlate.gov and a detailed table of the nutritional values of vegetables.
In addition, each month provides a recipe suggestion from the cookbook “Cooking With the Seasons” which features recipes by the Master Gardeners and local chefs.
All information in this beautiful and informative Master Gardener calendar has been written with Lake County growing conditions in mind, which makes it a unique, as well as useful, gift for local home gardeners and others wishing to learn more about Lake County gardening.
The 2013 Lake County Master Gardener Calendar is available now for $11 at the UCCE office.
Also available is the above-referenced “Cooking With the Seasons” cookbook at a cost of $13.
If calendar and cookbook are purchased together, the price for both is $23.
