LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – A local author will be signing copies of her new children’s book that has received recognition from the National Science Teacher's Association.

The book signing for Mary Miche’s new book, “Nature’s Patchwork Quilt,” will take place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Watershed Books, 305 N. Main St. in Lakeport.

The National Science Teacher's Association has listed the book – released by Dawn Publications in September – as an outstanding science trade book for children, and Miche has been nominated as a finalist for their yearly award.
