Juvenile Justice Commission welcomes guests and potential commissioners Feb. 21

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The members of the Lake County Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention Commission invite guests and curious citizens from all areas of Lake County to visit with and learn more about the commission at its next regular meeting on Thursday, Feb. 21.

The meeting takes place beginning at 12:15 p.m. in Room C on the third floor of the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport.

The panel, under the direction of chairperson Valerie La Bonte, has for several years worked to help coordinate several of the Lake County and state of California programs that provide services to Lake County's youths and their families.

The JJDPC would like to expand the commission with the addition of under 18 year old members as well as adults who have the time and motivation to include themselves and their expertise in diverse and sometimes complicated programs.

The programs have been designed to help the county's youth avoid the many elements that influence troublesome behavior, as well as provide serious advice and assistance to them and their families when trouble has become part of the lives.

The commission meets at 12:15 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at the courthouse.

For more information contact La Bonte at 707-245-8455.
