Museum hosts historic reading series March 16

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Historic Courthouse Museum in Lakeport will host the second in a series of historic readings on Saturday, March 16.

“The Diary of Lucas Willey” will be the subject of the reading, which will take place beginning at 2 p.m. in the upstairs courtroom.

Lucas Willey served as the justice of the peace in Lower Lake and in this segment he writes about the dismantling of the Cache Creek dam by 300 vigilantes in 1868.  

Mike Svehla will be the reader this month and the series continues on April 20, and May 18.  

There is no admission charge and refreshments will be served.  

The museum is located at 255 N. Main St.
