Chamber reports on Memorial Day weekend parade winners

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Chamber of Commerce has issued the list of winners for the annual Memorial Day Parade, which took place last Saturday, May 25.

Chamber President Jim Magliulo thanked parade participants, without whom there would be no parade.

“This truly is a community effort,” said Jim Magliulo, “and without our chamber member volunteers, chamber office staff and volunteers, we could not produce the parade every year.

In addition, the assistance, both before and after the parade, of the Lakeport Public Works Department and the Lakeport Police Department is critical in making sure there is a safe and well marked parade route to keep vehicles and pedestrians safe at all times, he said.

The 2013 parade judges were Lakeport City Manager Margaret Silviera, Lake County Farm Bureau Executive Director Claudia Street and CSHA Judge Kim Cipro of Hidden Valley Lake.

Magliulo said they were very pleased to have the great Paul Reading as our announcer. Reading shared many facts about Memorial Day and kept the crowd well informed as the parade came past the judging stage.

Kelseyville Lumber Co. provided the stage and stage setup this year was done by John and Melissa Fulton with assistance from Claudia Street. Ted Mandrones helped with the teardown duties.

For the 23rd year, Ginny Clinton chaired the parade lineup crew at the Lake County Fairgrounds.  Volunteers assisting here were her husband Barry Clinton, Lyle Coburn of Your One Stop Party Shop in Lakeport, Mike Gomes of the Office Spot, Dianna Hendrick of Lake County Superior Court, Mike Riley of Riley Cab and Stephanie Newell of Livin Made EZ.

Magliulo thanked the Lake County Corvette Club for placing their Corvette parade entries in three different groups which allowed them to be better highlighted throughout the parade route.

Great weather, great entries and a very large appreciative crowd along the entire parade route made for a wonderful parade, Magliulo said.

The full parade results are shown below.
