The classes will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 2; Wednesday, Oct. 9; and Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the library, 1425 N. High St.
Each class starts at 5:30 p.m. and finishes at 7:30 p.m.
The first two sessions are for beginning knitters and the third session is open to all knitters.
On Oct. 2 Swanson will teach a pattern for a simple eyeglass or cell phone case and on Oct. 9 she will teach the purl stitch.
The supply list for the beginning class is a set of size 8 knitting needles and some inexpensive worsted-weight yarn in any color.
All knitters, regardless of skill level, are invited to bring in unfinished knitting projects on Oct. 23 for help and advice.
