MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The year 2014 marks a couple new beginnings for the Middletown Luncheon Club.
First, the group bids adieu to the Middletown Methodist Church Social Hall, its longtime home base, and thanks the church for 36 years of warm welcome.
The luncheons now will be prepared by and served at Middletown's new senior center, 21256 Washington St. This presents exciting opportunities both for the senior center and the Middletown Luncheon Club.
Second, though the Middletown Luncheon Club continues to be run by its stalwart board of directors, the monthly luncheon is now facilitated by Beth Rudiger, Bobbi Wright and Rani Patentreger, who are happy to be able to continue the hospitality, camaraderie and education espoused by this 85-year-old tradition.
Join them for lunch (at the unbeatable price of $5) on Wednesday, Jan. 15, from noon to 1 p.m.
The speaker will be District 1 Supervisor Jim Comstock, who will give his annual "State of the County" address.
Reservations are required, as space is limited, and may be made by emailing
