CLEARLAKE, Calif. – St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake and the Lake County Office of Education are hosting Clear Lake Super Hero Day on Sunday, Sept. 14.
The free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at at Clearlake’s Austin Park, 14077 Lakeshore Drive.
The entire family is invited to this fun-filled, free event featuring a rock climbing wall, water slide, bungee run, bouncy houses and much more.
Booths featuring community organizations will be on hand to share information about their services, while providing activities for children.
Join in the fun with pickup basketball games, skate park competition and Glory Days flag football.
DJ Ken Steely is providing great music and fun games for the children.
Cactus Grill and Sammi's Sandwich Shop will be serving free food, while supplies last.
Be sure to come by The Hub, Konocti Wellness Center and The Hero Project booths. These booths represent new programs that are being offered in the community to help bring awareness to health care access and educational needs.
The Hub offers a one stop shop for community resources, including – but not limited to – information and referrals to medical and dental services, transportation services, food, clothing and housing information; counseling services for youth and families; parenting support and education; information and assistance with new health insurance options through the Affordable Care Act.
Konocti's Wellness Center is a collaboration between St. Helena Hospital Clear Lake and Konocti Unified School District to provide easy accessible health care for the students in the district.
The Hero Project is a new educational initiative that encourages parent engagement by helping parents improve their parenting skills and recognize that they are their child’s first and most important teacher.
While at the event sign up for The Hero Project and receive a free backpack and a raffle ticket.
