LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Makers and manufacturers of Lake County products are wanted to participate in a new regional marketing organization: North Bay Made.

Lake County is one of six counties currently participating in North Bay Made. Other counties include Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Solano and Sonoma.

Thrive Lake County is coordinating the North Bay Made program for Lake County.

“The North Bay Made project will help our region coordinate production and marketing activities,” said Kelley Rajala, director of Sonoma’s Share Exchange in Santa Rosa and founder of North Bay Made. “Over the decades, our region has experienced significant evolution with local agriculture, timber, fishing and manufacturing. We believe that more collaboration, coordination and investment in local production will create a stronger regional economy.”

Makers are invited to apply to join North Bay Made at http://northbaymade.org .

Producers of products – e.g., value-added food items, household consumables, pet supplies – are especially wanted, though makers of “luxury” items (including jewelry and art) are also welcome to participate.

North Bay Made is currently looking for the top 10 makers in each county. Selected makers will have their items placed in a special North Bay Made retail display to appear in retail locations in the six counties.

Sites include:

– Lake County: LakeWorks, 307 N. Main St., Lakeport;
– Sonoma County: Made Local Marketplace, 531 Fifth St., and Earth’s Bounty, 5755 Mountain Hawk Way, both located in Santa Rosa;
– Mendocino County: Three Sisters, 112 S School St., and Westside Renaissance Market, 1003 W. Clay St., both in Ukiah; Mariposa Market, 500 S. Main St., Willits; Harvest Markets, Highway 1, Fort Bragg and 10501 Lansing St., Mendocino.

The North Bay Made serves and grow local businesses and further economic localization within the region. Find out more by visiting http://northbaymade.org .
