Clear Lake Cardinals Wrestling impress at CMC Novice Tournament

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Cardinals brought eight wrestlers to the 2014 CMC Novice Tournament and took home six medals. 

For most, this was their first high school wrestling meet, but the Cardinals still ended the day with four gold medals, a silver and a bronze. 

Mia Miller was a gold medalist in the 126-128 pounds girls division.

In the boys division, Jacob Pyorre took first place in the 105-111 pounds division, going 3-0, while pinning all of his opponents.

Issac Lewis won first place in the 151-159 pounds division, pinning all three of his opponents. 

Tyler Buchholz took home the gold medal in the 159-160 pounds division while going 4-0 on the day. 

Dillon Williams took second place at 161-169 pounds, going 3-1 and Jacob Caldwell took the bronze medal in the 142-150 pounds class.

Also turning in a solid performance at 84-103 pounds, but just missing the medal round, was Marela Soto.
