REGIONAL: Road closure planned Sunday for Napa Valley Marathon

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Due to the Napa Valley Marathon, the California Highway Patrol reported there will be a closure on Silverado Trail on Sunday, March 1.

The CHP said the closure wiill take place from Oak Knoll Avenue to Calistoga starting at 6 a.m.

After the start of the event at 7 a.m., there will be a marked CHP vehicle following the last of the runners.

At approximately noon the patrol vehicle will make its turn onto Oak Knoll Avenue. At that time all traffic on the Silverado Trail will return to normal, the CHP said.

The event will then continue across Oak Knoll Avenue, where it will turn southbound on Big Ranch Road then west on El Centro Avenue.

Runners will travel on Solomon Avenue to Stover Street and into the Vintage High School parking lot for the finish of the event.

Completion time for the event is 1 p.m., the CHP said.

The CHP said exceptions to the road closure will be made for emergency medical vehicles and other emergency services if necessary.
