Master Gardeners to co-sponsor May 30 garden tour

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Clear Lake Trowel and Trellis Garden Club (CLTTGC) announced that the University of California Master Gardener Program of Lake County UC Cooperative Extension (UCCE) will co-sponsor its “Hidden Gardens of Lake County” tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 30.

UC Master Gardener volunteers will be present at the tour gardens to assist with plant identification and horticultural questions.

There also will be a UC Master Gardener Mobile Help Desk at one of the homes, where the program coordinator, Gabriele O’Neill, will be on hand to answer questions and concerns you have about your own gardening experiences. 

UC Master Gardeners have completed a minimum of 50 hours of education and training from UC and local experts and in return volunteer their time, providing research-based horticultural information to local residents.

The UCCE office is located in the Agriculture Building at 883 Lakeport Blvd. in Lakeport, 707-263-6838.     

Advance tickets for the tour are $25 and are sold at Watershed books, Flowers by Jackie and Main Street Nursery in Lakeport.

On the day of the tour, tickets will be sold at the Wine Studio in Upper Lake; The Kid’s Garden at Kelseyville Elementary School, 5065 Konocti Road; and the Jitter Bean Coffee Kiosk, 2595 S. Main Street, Lakeport. For more information visit www.clttgc.org .    

CLTTGC meets at noon on the third Tuesday of the month, except July and August, at Scotts Valley Women’s Club, located at 2298 Hendricks Road in Lakeport.
