Konocti Senior Support's next 18-hour senior peer counseling basic training begins at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30.

It runs Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Aug. 6, Aug. 13, Aug. 20, Aug. 27 and Sept. 3.

The organization's licensed psychotherapist/director, Barbara Nuckols, holds weekly sessions to prepare and supervise volunteers who provide seniors with free, paraprofessional counseling in their homes or at senior and wellness centers.
