LAKEPORT, Calif. – A candlelight vigil for an autistic child who died last week will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10.

The vigil for Norman “J.R.” Mendigorin II will take place beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the gazebo at Library Park on Park Street in Lakeport.

The 13-year-old was reported missing early Friday morning, as Lake County News has reported.

Hours later, authorities found his body in Clear Lake off of the end of the Third Street boat ramp.

The Thursday vigil will commemorate his life and shine a light on autism.
