LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Another seven residents of Lake County completed and passed the boating safety course on Aug. 24 offered by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary.
A Vessel Operator Card also referred to as the California Boater Card will be issued once the proof of completion of the required course is submitted to the state.
The new California state law requiring this boater card becomes effective Jan. 1, 2018.
The response to the offer of the required class was well received with the September class already being filled.
Another class on Saturday, Oct. 21, is being offered for an additional 20 to 25 residents.
The cost is $25 per person and reservations are required.
