Red Cross services remain available in Lake County

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – A Red Cross Service Center is available in Lake County to assist survivors of the Sulphur fire.

The center is located at the Lake County Local Assistance Center, Highlands Senior Center, 3245 Bowers Ave. from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Wednesday, Oct. 25.

It gives affected families the opportunity to meet one-on-one with trained Red Cross caseworkers who will assess their disaster-caused needs, offer recovery information and referrals to other agencies, and provide some financial assistance to those who qualify.

Please bring some proof of pre-disaster address such as a utility bill, electric bill, etc.

A Red Cross Service Center within Napa County will be opening in the coming days.

Red Cross volunteers also will be handing out cleaning and comfort items in the hardest-hit communities devastated by the Sulphur, Tubbs (Central LNU Complex) and Atlas (Southern LNU Complex) fires.

These items are free and include water, snacks, and cleanup items such as gloves, trash bags and dust masks.

The items are available at the Lake County Local Assistance Center in Clearlake; in Napa County, the items can be picked up at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 901 Washington St., Calistoga, and the Napa County Local Assistance Center, 2751 Napa Valley Corporate Drive, Building A in Napa.

In addition to the above sites, Red Cross volunteers will be handing out meals over the next few days in the hardest-hit neighborhoods in Napa County by the Atlas (Southern LNU Complex) and Tubbs (Central LNU Complex) fires from approximately noon to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 7 p.m.

One Red Cross vehicle will be stationed at the Local Assistance Center at Highlands Senior Center through Wednesday, Oct. 25.
