LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Lake County Republican Party reported on leadership changes as well as upcoming events.
There have been a few changes in central committee starting with the resignation of Dee Cuney. After many months of recovering from a fall that turned into a horrible infection, Cuney has decided to step down from the Lake County Republican Party.
The local party lauded Cuney’s dedication and commitment throughout the many years, and they look forward to the day when she returns to Lake County and can join the central committee as a member who will still be a guiding force in the Lake County Republican Party.
The group has been building its central committee over the last year and a half. As the appointed new chair, Lani Urquiza will start off the 2018 year with an event that she organized called “Voice of the People” on Jan 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the State Capitol on the north side. There also will be a Reagan Day Dinner on March 10.
Judge Stephen Bailey, who is running for attorney general, will be the guest speaker for this event. Tickets are being reserved now so please mark your calendar and contact Urquiza if you are interested.
Another change is the group’s time and date schedule. At its last meeting the group voted to close for the winter months of December and January resume in February, continuing through the summer months. Look for the announcement for the new meeting date at the end of January as well as the topic for that meeting.
Urquiza encourages registered Republicans in Lake County to attend the meeting next year.
“This is a very important election year with many changes within the state party and your voice is going to count on who they endorse prior to the primary in June. So please take that into consideration,” she said.
