LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Nominations are being accepted for the 20th Annual Stars of Lake County Community Awards which will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the Soper Reese Theater.
Nominations can be submitted by anyone and please remember that details are very important.
Nominees to date are: Marla Ruzicka Humanitarian of the Year: Shelly Mascari, Carla Ritz; Volunteer of the Year: Jennifer Strong; Organization of the Year-Nonprofit: Hospice Services of Lake County; Environmental Award: Kathleen Blair; Small Business of the Year: Old World Tavern/Lakeport Pizza, Performance Mechanical Heating & Cooling; Large Business of the Year: Adventist Health Clear Lake; Best Idea of the Year: 100+ Women Strong of Lake County; Woman of the Year: Dr. Kimberly Fordham, Janeane Bogner, Claudia Cervenka, aka Claudia Konocti.
Categories for which there are no nominations: Senior, Female Student, Male Student, Youth Advocate Volunteer, Youth Advocate Professional, Agriculture Award, Volunteer Organization, New Business, Local Hero, Joshua Blair Memorial Arts Amateur, Arts Award Professional, Man of the Year and Lifetime Achievement.
Nomination forms can be found at www.lakecochamber.com with the deadline for nominations Friday, Jan. 19, by close of business, or postmarked by Jan. 19.
The Stars Selection Committee will be reviewing all nominations and will be meeting on Feb. 1 to cast their secret ballot votes.
The committee is comprised of 12 individuals from various areas of Lake County.
Tickets for Stars are available through the office of the Lake County Chamber and are $20/person. All nominees receive a free ticket to Stars.
