The Land Trust will be celebrating its spirited corps of volunteers with a celebration on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 1 to 3 p.m., including refreshments and a guided hike.
Whether you have volunteered for the Land Trust in the past, or are interested in becoming a Land Trust volunteer, this event is for you.
The reception will be held at the Rodman Preserve Nature Center at 6350 Westlake Road in Upper Lake, just off the Nice/ Lucerne cutoff exit.
Descriptions of volunteer positions will be available and Land Trust staff and board members will be on hand to answer questions and to celebrate all that has been accomplished through volunteer work so far.
Currently, the Land Trust has openings for all volunteer positions and duties, including hike leaders, indoor cleaning crew for the Nature Center, outdoor property maintenance, community outreach, special events and board of directors.
Among the Land Trust’s goals for the year is to find hike leaders for Boggs Lake, between Kelseyville and Cobb; and Rabbit Hill in Middletown.
Depending on the type of volunteer work, benefits include experience in marketing, community service hours, meeting people with similar interests, and the enjoyment of working close to the earth and being in the great outdoors.
