Caltrans plans major roadwork through March 8

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.

Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 20

– Guardrail work at Mid Lake Road will occur on Friday, March 2. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 20-minute delays.

– Guardrail work at Lakeshore Drive will occur on Friday, March 2. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 20-minute delays.

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work at 3 miles South of Elk Creek on Tuesday, March 6, and Wednesday, March 7. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for tree work from Philo Greenwood Road to North Limits Elk Road on Friday, March 9. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Guardrail work at Little River Bridge will occur on Friday, March 2. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 20-minute delays.

– Emergency slide repairs at 1 mile South Mill Bank Resort will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 24 hours a day. Motorist should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 20

– Guardrail work at Broaddus Creek Bridge will end on Friday, March 2. One-way traffic control will be in effect 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Guardrail work at North Capella Overcrossing Bridge will end on Friday, March 2. One-way traffic control will be in effect 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 101

– Slide repairs from Commisky Station Road to the Pieta Creek Bridge will continue. Northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane 24 hours a day. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Routine maintenance near Frog Woman Rock will continue. Northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Bridge work at Russian River Bridge will occur on Tuesday, March 6. One-way traffic control will be in effect 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Guardrail work at Crawford Creek Bridge will end on Friday, March 2. One-way traffic control will be in effect 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Guardrail work at Route 253 will end on Friday, March 2. Lane restrictions will be in effect 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Pavement work at the Southbound Route 222 offramp will start Monday, March 5. The ramp will be fully closed 24 hours a day. Motorists should plan alternate routes.

– Bridge work at Route 101 and Route 20 separation will occur on Monday, March 5. Lane restrictions will be in effect 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Emergency wildfire repairs at Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 24 hours a day weekdays. Motorist should anticipate 15-minute delays.

– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work at Tan Oak Park Road on Tuesday, March 6. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Guardrail work at Private Road will end Friday, March 9. One-way traffic control will be in effect 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Emergency slide repairs at Piercy will continue. Lane restrictions will be in effect 24 hours a day. Motorist should minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 128

– Utility work at Hibbard Road to 1 miles west of Big Oaks Drive will begin on Tuesday, March 6. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Emergency work at Beebe Creek Bridge to Big Oaks Drive will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 162

– Wall work at The Middle Way will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary stop signs will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Emergency storm damage repairs at various locations from 1.7 miles east of Buckman Drive to the Lake/Mendocino County line will continue. One-way traffic control with a temporary traffic signal will be in effect 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.
