‘Hike 4 Healing’ planned May 12

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Worldwide Healing Hands will hold its fifth annual “Hike 4 Healing” on Saturday, May 12.

The event is a climb of the Wright Peak Summit Trail, a six-mile round-trip hike with an elevation gain of 1,600 feet on Mount Konocti.

Check-in is at 7:30 a.m. and the hike starts at 9 a.m.

This hike is challenging, however not nearly as challenging as it is for the two million women in the Kabale region in Uganda to walk 100 miles to receive medical care.

A reported 287,000 women a year die from pregnancy and childbirth-related complications. That’s 800 women every day. Nearly 90 percent of these deaths are preventable.

All donations will directly benefit Worldwide Healing Hands and its mission to deliver critical health care services to the most underserved areas of the world.

Hikers are asked to donate $25 for their participation and encouraged to get friends and employers to sponsor this “boots on the ground” effort.
