Workshops focus on ‘Memories to Legacies’

MIDDLETOWN – “Memories to Legacies,” a series of free workshop sessions to help encourage individuals to reflect on their lives and pass on legacies, will be presented by Hospice Services of Lake County starting April 9.

Workshop sessions will take place at the Middletown Senior Center.

Each session will have its own theme designed to help participants write about their lives, share stories with family and future generations, and connect with new friends in a relaxed setting.

Participants may attend any or all of the four workshops. The meetings will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on each of the scheduled days.

Session dates and the scheduled topics are:

April 9: “The Stories Behind Your Photos” – Bring your photos to life with storytelling and preserve those stories for future generations;

April 16: “Show and Tell for Grownups” – Just like being back in school. Bring a memorable item, keepsake, or heirloom to share;

April 23: “Memories Made Around the Table” – Join us in talking about conversations that have taken place around the kitchen table, or memorable food dishes;

April 30: “Legacy Letters/Ethical Wills” – Preserve life’s lessons, values and beliefs through writing about what truly matters most to you.

Hospice Services employees Laurie Fisher and Loretta McCarthy will facilitate the workshops.

“Join us for this delightfully fun, thought-provoking, and important series,” said Fisher. “We think you’ll enjoy the activities we’ve planned to help you reflect on your life, share your wisdom, and pass on your stories so that your precious moments live on. The workshops offer a safe, supportive space where you can share your thoughts freely.”

The number of participant seats will be limited at each session. Registration is recommended. To register for any of the five workshops, contact Laurie Fisher, by calling 707-263-6270, Extension 130, or email This email address is being protected from spambots.
