CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Rotary Club of Clear Lake is delighted to announce that its sponsors and guests helped to gross $52,530 at its 15th annual Seafood Boil Fundraiser that took place on Saturday, Feb. 24 in Clearlake.
Sponsorship dollars were directed towards retrofitting the Clearlake Community Center into an emergency evacuation center in the event of a disaster.
The event took place at the William Cornelison Center on the Konocti Education Center grounds in Clearlake.
Students from throughout Konocti Unified School District provided support in a variety of event areas.
Sponsors included Clearlake Veterinary Clinic, Marie's Lakeshore Feed & Grain and Calpine Corp. as top Captain’s sponsors.
First Mate sponsors included Golden State Water Co. Adventist Health Clear Lake, Community First Credit Union, WestAmerica Bank, K&R Tree Specialists, Griffin's Furniture Outlet, Gary's Cabinets & Prehung Doors, Law Offices of J. Chrisp, Clearlake Grocery Outlet, Chernoh Excavating and Michele Waterman Professional Coaching.
Catch O’the Day sponsors were Twin Pine Casino & Hotel, Gustafson Enterprise and Noggle Winery, while Savings Bank of Mendocino stepped in to cover some much-needed event equipment. Wine tasting was provided by Brassfield Estate Winery.
Sold out by early January, the Seafood Boil’s popularity relies on the participation of every one of its 58-member Rotary Club, along with a bevy of student volunteers, and community members who are willing to give.
Because of this collaboration, the Rotary Club of Clear Lake has a history of successful fundraising, which has allowed them to do things like contribute directly to the Clayton Fire relief efforts immediately after the incident as well as support fire recovery efforts through the Lake Area Rotary Club Association.
The club has completed numerous projects since its inception in 1973, including sponsorship of the Safe House for Teens; the installation of bus stop shelters throughout the community; and donating to the construction of St. Helena Hospital Clearlake’s new emergency rooms.
Rotarians are a diverse group, united in a goal to contribute to community.
