May 26 Memorial Day parade planned in Lakeport

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The 2018 Memorial Day Parade on Main Street in Lakeport takes place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26.

This ever-popular event kicks off the summer season and is a very good opportunity to advertise your business or organization to the crowds that line the streets during the parade.

The annual parade is produced by the Lake County Chamber of Commerce and the major sponsor for 2018 is SERVPRO of Lake, Mendocino and Sonoma County NE.

The stage is provided courtesy of Mendo Lake Home Center & Lumber Company in Lakeport. The familiar voice of Paul Reading who has been the Parade Announcer for many years, is returning again this year. Our 2018 Theme is “Honor America.”

Parade lineup begins at 8:30 a.m. at the fairgrounds and entries are asked to have participants carpool as there is extremely limited parking at the grounds.

Don’t hesitate to be a part of this American tradition, a Memorial Day Parade. For more information contact the Chamber at 707-263-5092.

Following the parade will be special dedications of memorial trees and lamp posts on Main Street by the Lakeport Main Street Association.

There will also be a special dedication of the mural on the building at 290 Main St., corner of Third Street.
