NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.
Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.
Caltrans will suspend most work on Northern California highways from Friday, May 25, through Monday, May 28, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
However, in the case of unforeseen circumstances, it may be necessary for Caltrans Maintenance forces to respond to emergency situations.
LAKE COUNTY
Highway 20
– Shoulder work near Foothill Drive will continue. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
– Utility work will begin at Route 53 on Wednesday, May 30. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
Highway 29
– Full closure from Route 53 to Morgan Valley Road for Lower Lake Daze Parade and BBQ on Sunday, May 27. Full closure will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Motorists should use an alternate route.
– AT&T has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work at Point Lakeview Drive beginning Wednesday, May 30. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
MENDOCINO COUNTY
Highway 1
– Emergency work 1 mile south of Navarro Bluff Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
– Emergency work near Soldier Point Viaduct will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours day. Motorists should minor traffic slowdowns.
Highway 20
– Emergency work from Access Road to Cold Creek Bridge will occur Wednesday, May 30, and Thursday, May 31. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
Highway 101
– Slide repairs from Comminsky Station Road to the Pieta Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.
– Guardrail work at Route 253 will continue. Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
– Pavement work near the Route 222 junction will continue. The southbound offramp will be fully closed. Motorists should find an alternate route.
– Emergency work south of Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. Lane restrictions will be in effect in both directions. Motorist should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
– Drainage work north of Uva Drive will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.
– Striping work from Forestry Entrance Road to East Hill Undercrossing will occur on Tuesday, May 29. Lane closures will in effect from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
– Striping work from Cummings Road Undercrossing to Frontage Road will occur on Wednesday, May 30. Lane closures will in effect from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
– Construction at Jitney Gulch Bridge will end continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
– Striping work from Standish Hickey to Bell Glen Resort will occur on Wednesday, May 30. Lane closures will in effect from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
– Emergency work at Bell Glenn Resort to the Dora Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
– Striping work from South Fork Eel River Bridge to the Humboldt County Line will occur on Thursday, May 31. Lane closures will in effect from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
– Emergency work north of Piercy will continue. Lane restrictions will be in effect in both directions. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.
Highway 128
– Emergency work from Hibbard Road to Big Oaks Drive will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
Highway 162
– Wall work at The Middle Way will continue. One-way traffic control with temporary stop signs will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
Highway 175
– Emergency work east of the entrance to Motorcycle Park will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.
The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.
