Police issue traffic safety advisory for May 26 Lakeport Memorial Day parade

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport Police Department has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the city’s Memorial Day parade on Saturday, May 26.

On Saturday between 10:45 a.m. and approximately 12:15 p.m., Main Street between Martin Street and Clearlake Avenue and Martin Street east of the Lake County Fairgrounds to S. Main St. will be closed to traffic for the Memorial Day parade.

The parade runs from Martin Street at the fairgrounds to Main Street then north to Clearlake Avenue.

Officials said the parade starts at 11 a.m. and is expected to last approximately 45 minutes, however street closures and traffic controls will begin at 10:45 a.m. and are not expected to be removed until approximately 12:15 p.m.

Motorists are advised to use caution when driving in this area and find alternate routes when possible.

Lakeport Police and Public Works staff will be on site to conduct traffic controls and provide for public safety.
