LAKEPORT, Calif. – Mark Meuser, a Republican candidate for California’s secretary of state job, will make a stop in Lakeport on Wednesday, July 11.

Meuser will meet with members of the public from 3 to 4 p.m. at Round Table Pizza, 821 11th St. in Lakeport.

An attorney and small business owner, Meuser is racing against incumbent Secretary of State Alex Padilla in California’s general election in November.

His stop on Wednesday in Lakeport is part of a 5,000-mile bike tour he’s taking through all 58 of California’s counties.

The tour, which began July 9 in Contra Costa County, will end in Orange County on Aug. 23, according to his Web site.

Meuser is no stranger to such athletic endeavors, having previously completed an Ironman competition.

He visited Lake County in March, when the Lake County Republican Party hosted him.
