LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport Women's Civic Club teamed up with the Konocti Lioness Club to help beautify the Lake County Fairgrounds ahead of the fair’s opening this week.

On Thursday the groups spent the day filling and planting wine barrels with colorful annuals to place alongside the freshly painted benches at the front door of the Floral Building, just in time for the fair's grand opening later that day.

Clare Stenge, Julie Hernaez, Anna and Ron Hess, Hilde Krause and Lonny Rittler were the busy gardeners who prepared the area which will then be cared for by People Services.
