Fog seal work planned in Kelseyville area beginning Sept. 20

KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – Beginning on Thursday, Sept. 20, and continuing through Thursday, Sept. 27, Lake County Public Works will be applying fog seal to the newly chip sealed roads in the Big Valley area and Gordon Springs subdivision.

The schedule along with whether it is a full closure or single-lane closure with controlled traffic is listed below.

All roads will be impacted during the day they are scheduled for work between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. in order to give the fog seal time to cure.

Thursday, Sept. 20: Full closures

– Highland Springs Road, just past the entrance of Westgate gas station and Highway 20 to Big Valley Road.
– Big Valley Road, from Soda Bay Road to Stone Drive.
– Plunkett Lane, Bell Hill to end.
– Dogwood Lane.
– Madrone.
– Kelsey Creek West.
– Kelsey CReek East.
– Gordon Springs Drive.

Wednesday, Sept. 26, to Thursday, Sept. 27: Single-lane controlled traffic

– Thomas Drive, Highway 29 to Big Valley Road.
– Big Valley Road, Thomas Drive to Stone Drive.
– Stone Drive, Soda By Road to Big Valley Road.
– Renfro Drive, Highway 29 to Bell Hill Road.
– Bell Hill Road, Plunkett Lane to Gold Dust Drive.
– Argonaut Road, Highway 29 to Big Valley Road.

Public Works asks that the public anticipate limited access to their property from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the day sealant is applied to these roadways.

During the time they are working and until the road oil dries, please do not drive on the street or allow children access to the treatment area.
