LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Library Literacy Program is having a training for volunteer tutors on Monday, Nov. 5.
The training will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lakeport Library, 1425 N. High St.
Participants will learn useful techniques for teaching adults to read and practice the techniques with a partner.
Upon completion of the training, tutors will be matched with adult learners in a variety of settings around the county.
Those who would like to help adults learn to read are encouraged to attend. No experience is required, and there will be ongoing support and workshops.
The training is free but a $25 donation to cover materials is requested. A light lunch and snacks will be provided.
