Thursday Morning Breakfast Group announces November guest lineup

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The Thursday Morning Breakfast Group that meets weekly in Clearlake has announced its lineup of invited guest speakers for the month of November.

The group meets at 7 a.m. at the Main Street Bar and Grill, 14084 Lakeshore Drive.

The lineup of invited guests is as follows:

Nov. 1: TED Talk by former Albuquerque mayor, Richard J. Berry about offering litter/garbage pick up work to those who hold signs saying, “Need Work” and paying wages to the workers. Hopefully Ian, a local willing and able man who needs work, will speak about his enthusiasm for such a program.

Nov. 8: Jo Bennett, former mayor of Clearlake and community activist will speak on African American culture.

Nov. 15: Doug Herren, the director of the Clearlake Public Works Department, will update the group about Public Works projects with particular emphasis on Measure V’s progress and plans.

Nov. 22: Thanksgiving. Main Street Bar and Grill is open and while we have no speaker, anyone is welcome to come by and declare reasons to be thankful.

Nov. 29: Loretta McCarthy and former Lake County supervisor, Denise Rushing, will report on their recent trip with Pachamama to the Amazon rainforest as well as progress regarding the Lucerne “Castle.”
