Lake County Republican Women Federated celebrates 70 years

HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE, Calif. – Lake County Republican Women Federated celebrated its 70th Anniversary (1948-2018) on Nov. 14 at a luncheon in the Greenview Restaurant in Hidden Valley Lake.

Highlighting the event was Dottie Linden, Northern Division president of California Federation of Republican Women, who, with wit and wisdom, spoke on "Celebrating 70 years of service and boldly moving forward."

She reflected on what it means to be part of the National Federation of Republican Women, the difference the organization has made and will make going forward. Great emphasis was placed on the informed voter.

From various reports of the length of time voters spent in the voter booth and the consulting between people coming in to vote, it pointed to the fact people really had not studied the candidates and propositions before coming to vote.

Linden retired from AT&T as regional director, Northern California. During her career she led organizations more than 3,000 people and was responsible for 3.5 million customer contacts daily.

She's a former second and third vice president for California Federation of Republican Women Northern Division, regional director and president of Sacramento Republican Women Federated and has chaired several committees.

Her personal mission is to help the leadership teams to strengthen and grow the organization by being informed, involved and impactful. She is determined to engage and share the knowledge and experience gained as a member of the National Federation of Republican Women with everyone as the best way to overcome voter ignorance and apathy.

Lake County Republican Women Federated will move into their 71st year working for and not against – we are for less state debit, for securing our country's borders, for keeping the recent tax cuts, for fewer federal and state regulations, for fewer homeless, for outlawing sanctuary cities, for innocent until proven guilty, for America first. And this is just a partial list.

Although there will be no general meetings of Lake County Republican Women Federated in December and January, the group’s work never stops. As the delightful anniversary cactus plant table decorations symbolized, with our longevity and endurance, we will continue moving forward, no matter what elements are thrown at us.

In her closing remarks, Linden outlined what Republican women are all about: We are here to help all people get the information and facts about issues; to be optimistic, to educate and show up; remembering at all times, “We are one American family.”

If you are a registered Republican woman looking for ways to make a difference, we invite you to join our organization. The next general meeting will be Feb. 13, 2019.
