KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – A fundraiser is under way for a Kelseyville family whose home was damaged in a fire last week.

Donna Godwin Nelson and her family have been long time residents of Kelseyville.

Nelson has always been a helpful, positive soul in the community and is known as a champion of children.

On Nov. 15, while she and her son were away from home, their home was damaged in a fire.

Friends have started a GoFundMe account to help the family meet expenses.

The fundraiser has a $5,000 goal. It can be found here.
