Lake County History Roundtable meets Dec. 3

LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County History Roundtable will hold its next meeting on Monday, Dec. 3.

The group will meet at 6:15 p.m. at the Country Air Properties Lakeport office, 460 S. Main St.

This month’s topic is, “Why did Lincoln invade the South?”

Was it to end slavery? Retaliate for Fort Sumter? Or to preserve the original union?

Zane Jensen will be joined by Phil and John Smoley to discuss all of the issues and motives that led to the beginning of America’s most destructive and deadly war.
