LAKEPORT, Calif. – On Thursday, Feb. 28, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., the Clear Lake Soroptimist Club is hosting an evening social at Don Angel Cellars on 165 N. Main in Lakeport.
Anyone interested in learning more about the Clear Lake Soroptimist Club is encouraged to attend.
There is no charge for non-members. To R.S.V.P., call 707-350-9869 by Feb. 25.
The Clear Lake Soroptimist Club regularly meets monthly at noon at Howard’s Grotto in Clearlake.
For working members who do not live or work in Clearlake it is challenging to make the noontime meetings so the club decided to begin alternating the time and location of the meetings.
“We had about 50 women show up for our evening meeting and social in Kelseyville last October,” said President Ami Landrum. “We hope by meeting in various locations in the county and, after normal working hours, we can encourage new members and make it easier for current members who live in these areas to attend our meetings.”
“This meeting is an opportunity to learn more about our programs,” said Tina Scott, club vice president. “It’s also an opportunity to interact with like minded individuals who make it a personal priority to empower Lake County women to achieve their full potential.”
Wines by Don Angel Cellars will be available by the glass and appetizers by Fresh and Bangin’ will be served.
Soroptimist means, “best for women.”
The Soroptimist International of Clear Lake Club is a volunteer organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.
