LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Library will host three free programs on “Reversing Global Warming: Introduction to Drawdown” around Lake County in coming weeks.
Presenter Carol Cole-Lewis will be the facilitator for Pachamama Alliance, a global community that offers people the chance to learn, connect, engage, travel and cherish life for the purpose of creating a sustainable future that works for all.
The first program is scheduled for Wednesday, April 17, at 5 p.m. at Lakeport Library, 1425 N. High St.
Middletown Library will host a program on Saturday, April 27, at 10 a.m. The library is located at 21256 Washington St. in Middletown.
The final program will be held at Redbud Library, 14785 Burns Valley Road in Clearlake on Saturday, May 18, at 10 a.m.
"The presentation will begin to explore how we all can participate (and are already participating) in Drawdown efforts, both individually and collectively as a Lake County community,” Cole-Lewis said.
According to Pachamama. Alliance, “Drawdown is the point at which we begin to reverse climate change by drawing down the level of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This ground-breaking scientific study of the 100 most effective Drawdown strategies, including their projected financial impacts, is summarized in Drawdown: The Most Comprehensive Plan Ever Proposed to Reverse Global Warming, a new book edited by Paul Hawken and available through the Lake County Library. This is a hopeful and scientifically grounded conversation about the possibility of working together to actually reverse the damage done to our beloved planet. Many of the solutions are things we would want to do anyway, and they offer exciting opportunities to learn and grow in our ability to care for each other and the world.”
