Caltrans plans major roadwork through April 18

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.

Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 53

– A Caltrans Encroachment Permit has been granted for utility work at Route 53 beginning on Monday, April 15. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Road work from Putah Creek to Dry Creek will begin on Monday, April 15. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

– Emergency work from Route 1 to Schooner Gulch will begin. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for tree work from Iverson Road to Private Road to begin on Monday, April 15. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Bridge work at Brush Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work near Elk Creek on Friday, April 19. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Emergency work at Blue Slide Gulch will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 20

– Emergency work 2 miles west of Three Chop Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Emergency work from Hollands Lane to Walker Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

– Emergency work from Cold Creek Bridge to Witter Springs Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

Highway 101

– Emergency work from Treatment Plant to Route 253 Overcrossing will begin on Monday, April 15. Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Emergency work from Reeves Canyon Road to Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Emergency work from Hollands Lane to Walker Road will occur on Saturday, April 13. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

– Construction work at Sherwood Road and Main Street (Old US 101) in Willits will begin Thursday, April 11. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for tree work from Frontage Road to Treehouse Road to begin on Monday, April 15. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Emergency work 11 miles south of Humboldt County line to Dora Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Bridge work from Stanley Creek Road Undercrossing to South Fork Eel River Bridge will begin Monday, April 15. Lane closures will be in effect 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 128

– Emergency work from the East limits of Philo to Anderson Valley Way will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work at Road 150B will begin on Monday, April 15. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Emergency work at Lake County Line will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours a day. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 253

– Emergency work Route 128 Boonville to Anderson Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Emergency work from Anderson Creek Bridge to Singley Cattlepass will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Emergency work from Singley Cattlepass to 1 mile west of Soda Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 271

– Bridge work at McCoy Creek Bridge will continue. A full bridge closure is in effect. Motorists should plan an alternate route.

The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.
