Red Cross celebrates volunteers in Lake and Mendocino counties

SANTA ROSA , Calif. –  The American Red Cross of the California Northwest honored three volunteers from Lake and Mendocino counties at its annual Volunteer Recognition Lunch on March 16 at Riviera Hill Restaurant, in Kelseyville.

Volunteers honored at the dinner include:

– New Volunteer of the Year Award: Dennis Burke of Lake County.
– Disaster Cycle Services Outstanding Support: Dreya Braverman of Mendocino County.
– Disaster Cycle Services Exceptional Response: Dave Fromer of Lake County.

In addition, a number of people were honored at the event for the number of hours they volunteered to the Red Cross in 2018.

While the annual event spotlights several key volunteers, the event is designed to acknowledge all of the Red Cross's local volunteers said Nicole Massey, volunteer and youth services manager for Lake and Mendocino counties.

"Our volunteers fill a number of important roles in serving our communities," said Massey. "Their selfless contributions of time and energy make the work of the Red Cross possible."
