Caltrans approves major roadwork through June 20

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.

Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 20

– Drainage work from Blue Lakes Road to the Colusa County Line will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights overnight. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Road and utility work from Catholic Church Road to Long Valley Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 5-minute delays.

– Highway construction from Private Road to Route 53 South will begin Sunday, June 16. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights overnight. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– The Annual Middletown Days Parade will close a portion of Route 29 from Central Park Road to Wardlaw Road on Saturday, June 15. Traffic control and detours will be in effect between 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 29

– Highway construction for the Hartmann Roundabout from Putah Lane to Spruce Road / Hidden Valley will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. weeknights overnight. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Drainage work from Diener Drive to Mockingbird Lane will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. weeknights overnight. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Emergency work from 4 miles east of Mathews Road to Mathews Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Tree work and shoulder widening from Putah Creek to Dry Creek will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

– Emergency work at Brush Creek will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– PG&E has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work 2 miles south of Elk Creek on Tuesday, June 18. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Slide removal south of Navarro River Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Core drilling will occur at Salmon Creek Bridge between Pacific Reefs Road and Salmon Creek beginning on Monday, June 17. One-way intermittent traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Pavement work on Cypress Avenue will occur on Monday, June 17 through Wednesday, June 19. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor delays.

– Emergency work at Blue Slide Gulch will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– A filming permit has been granted for filming activity at Blue Side Gulch on Saturday, June 15 and on Monday, June 17. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 20

– Emergency work two miles west of Three Chop Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Roadwork from Hollands Lane to Walker Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

– Roadwork from Access Road to Potter Road in Potter Valley will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. weekdays overnight. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 101

– Emergency work from Reeves Canyon Road to Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Emergency work near the Dora Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Shoulder work south of Piercy will occur on Thursday, June 20, and Friday, June 21, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 128

– Highway construction from Route 1 to east of Philo on Friday, June 14. One-way traffic control will be in effect 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

– Emergency work from Route 1 to Flynn Creek Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays. 

Highway 162

– Shoulder work south of Piercy will occur on Friday, June 14. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Shoulder work 1.5 miles north of Rodeo Creek Bridge will continue from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 175

– Emergency work near the southern 29 junction will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 253

– Emergency work from Route 128, Boonville to Singley Cattlepass will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.
